Our Associate Pastor

Andrew Stewart was born into a Christian home and was brought up under the ministry of Magherafelt Free Presbyterian Church. From an early age he knew his need of salvation and that the Lord Jesus Christ was the only Saviour of men. In his early years he made a false profession of faith. However, there was no genuine fruit of the new birth evident in his life.

In his late teens and early twenties he had little or no interest in the things of God, yet his faithful Biblical upbringing never left him and at the age of 26 in 2006 he was saved by the grace of God. As a new creature in Christ, he took an active role in his home congregation and was involved in some of the local ministries of the Church. Around 2010, he left the joinery business to come home and work on the family dairy farm. After 5 years he felt the call of God to enter into the Whitefield College of the Bible to study for the ministry, through the words of Luke 9:60, “Go thou and preach the kingdom of God.”

In his final year of study he was placed as a student assistant to the Rev Greer in Ballymena and the Lord began to exercise his heart to remain among the people there. Little did he know that the Ballymena Session had been praying for two years regarding the future ministry of the Church and the Lord had lead them in a very definite way for him to take up the ministry there. He sought the Lord for guidance and was called by God through the words of Genesis 26:2-3. The congregation extended the call to him in December 2019 and he was ordained and installed as Associate Minister of Ballymena Free Presbyterian Church on 24th January 2020.
